A member shall, at
all times, ensure
that all dogs under
that members control
are properly housed,
fed, watered
exercised and
receive proper
veterinary attention
if and when required
-
A member shall not
allow any dogs under
that members care to
roam at large and,
when away from home,
ensure that they are
kept full leashed or
under effective
control at all
times.
-
A member shall breed
only with the intent
of maintaining
and/or improving the
standard of the
breed.
-
A member shall not
breed from a bitch
unless it has
reached adequate
maturity and is in
good health, and
thereafter not more
than once in each
succeeding period of
twelve (12) months.
Provided, however,
that it should be
necessary, through
extenuating
circumstances, to
breed with a bitch
more than once
within twelve (12)
months), the member
shall rest the bitch
on the third season.

The member shall not
knowingly permit any
of the members pure
bred dogs to be
mated to a dog of a
different breed, to
a cross-bred dog or
to any un-registered
dog of the same
breed.

The member shall not
sell or otherwise
transfer from that
members care any
puppy under eight
(8) weeks of age,
thus allowing for
vaccination which
must be given at six
(6) weeks of age,
and for the
necessary ten (10)
to fourteen (14)
days for the vaccine
to take effect.

A member shall
ensure that all
persons acquiring
dogs from that
members clearly
understands their
responsibility for
the care and welfare
of the animal and
that they have the
time and facilities
(i.e adequate
fences, sufficient
room and proper
shelter etc) to
perform their
obligations.

The member shall
provide to all
purchasers of dogs
sold or placed by
that member written
details of dogs sold
or placed by that
member, written
details of all
dietary and
immunisation
requirements and/or
appropriate
publications
relating to such
requirements and
responsible dog
ownership.
-
The member shall
not sell any dog to
commercial dog
wholesalers, retail
pet dealers who are
not registered with
the joint RNSWCC/PIJAC
Pet Shop
Accreditation Scheme
or directly or
indirectly allow a
dog to be given as a
prize or donation in
a content of any
kind.

A member shall not
knowingly
misrepresent the
characteristics of
the breed.

A member shall
ensure that when
selling or
transferring a dog
to another person
that documents as
required by the
RNSWCC Rules and
Regulations will be
provided to the
purchaser.
-
Fairness to the dog
and the breeder - if
for whatever reasons
you cannot or do not
wish to keep the dog
you have purchased,
a member must
contact the breeder.
Responsible breeders
make every effort to
see that the dog is
re-homed.
Alternatively,
contact the
Staffordshire Bull
Terrier Society of
NSW Inc., NEVER turn
the dog loose to
fend for itself.
Animal shelters are
not to be considered
an option for the
Staffordshire Bull
Terrier you have
purchased.

The Staffordshire
Bull Terrier
owner/breeder/exhibitor
shall NEVER, under
any circumstances,
condone, support or
ignore the practice
of pitting a dog
against any other
animal in a fight
for pleasure or
profit. Information
regarding this type
of abuse shall be
reported to the
proper humane
authorities.

Breeder should
consult with known
authorities
regarding the
specific countries
outside of Australia
where dog fighting
has not been made an
illegal practice,
and refuse any
export to these
countries.

Good sportsmanship
should be advanced
by all. When
participating in
competitions,
refrain from the use
of disparaging,
false and misleading
statements about
judges, fellow
competitors and
other dog owners.
Conduct yourself in
such a manner as to
reflect credit on
the sport of
purebred dogs in
general and the
Staffordshire Bull
Terrier in
particular.
